A 43-year-old woman was jailed for 10 months by Tuen Mun Court on Monday after she pleaded guilty to stabbing an elderly woman for being noisy.

The court heard that the victim was waiting outside a kindergarten in Tuen Mun to pick up her granddaughter when the defendant, who lived in Siu Lun Court near the school, got into an argument with her over the noise. The defendant later stabbed her with a pair of scissors.

In passing sentence, the magistrate noted that the 64-year-old victim had received 20 stitches on her arm, and has been seeing a counsellor for the nightmares she has been having since the attack.
